While playing along with the #wearwhatwhereseptember stylechallenge on Instagram (which is so much fun – you should definitely join in!), I posted a picture of a plaid dress (below) and received some questions about where I found it.
Unfortunately, I bought the dress several years ago from Old Navy, but today I’m providing links to several plaid dresses from Old Navy and Red Dress Boutique that are available now and are all under $50! Happy shopping and enjoy your long weekend!

While waiting on some cooler weather, I’m providing a brief round-up of a few summer outfits.
Y’all. It’s still in the 90s here. All bloggers and Instagrammers are posting pictures of their cute fall clothes, and I start sweating if I even hear the phrase ‘long sleeves.’ This sweet little cardigan arrived in my mailbox last week and has me wishing even harder for fall!
I like wearing doughnuts almost as much as I love eating them, which means I immediately fell in love with this doughnut tank from elle & k boutique.
Tank – elle & k boutique ($20 comes in ivory or grey); shoes and skirt – Old Navy
I usually wear this tank with jean shorts, but I thought it would be fun to dress it up and bring out the colors of the doughnuts with some bright blue and pink. This doughnut tank never fails to make people laugh and/or smile!
Although this tank by itself is adorable, I also have to brag on elle & k because I think it’s important to support small businesses, especially ones with great service. They offer free shipping (hooray!) and my tank arrived wrapped in pink tissue paper with an oh-so-cute koozie and a handwritten note! They sure know how to treat a lady right! 🙂
A doughnut a day is definitely my motto. If you need to get your doughnut accessory/clothing fix, I’ve linked some of my favorites below!
Doughnut Float from Amazon
Donut rings from Forever 21
Donut Sweatshirt (listed in men’s)
“Life Without Jesus Is Like a Donut” Tank from Be Still Clothing
Tie dye has never really done anything for me; however, this summer I’ve been obsessed with all the tie dye dresses and skirts. Unfortunately, I’ve also had a really hard time actually buying any tie dye pieces because they sell out so quickly. Luckily, In Bloom Boutique pulled through for me at just the right time… Continue reading
Happy Friday! A few days ago I was checking out a new list of dates and locations that the lovely ladies of Bourbon and Boweties and Moon and Lola had posted for their tour. The stars aligned perfectly because I was planning to visit my sister in Charleston the same day they were making an appearance at Tres Carmen Boutique! This boutique is a little gem on James Island – I had to tear myself away from an adorable pineapple top and keep my eye on the prize – a bangle!
It was so much fun meeting Carley of Bourbon and Boweties and Kelly of Moon and Lola (and the raspberry moscato sangria at the boutique was amazing! We really should have begged for the recipe.). I’m even happier than before to support these two ladies because they’ve taken so much time to tour and hang out with their fans, even powering on after a scary-looking crash. Proof that you can’t keep a good, southern woman down! It’s great to know that the creators of the brands you love are just as sweet and wonderful as they seem in pictures and articles.
I limited myself to one bangle from the new collection, but considering how many times I said “ooh, I like this one,” several more bangles are in my near future.
A new tiger’s eye “A” bangle for me, and a palm tree for E.
Be on the lookout for an entire post on bangles soon! Have an amazing weekend!
